As I was beginning my art journey in 2018, I became fascinated with abstractions and abstracting faces in particular.
Each year, from June 1 – July 31, Tammy Garcia of the Daisy Yellow Facebook group, hosts a creative challenge called ICAD (Index Card a Day).
The challenge is to create a tiny creative project each day for 61 days. While there are prompts provided for each day, the only rule is that the substrate must be an index card.
On June 1, 2018, I challenged myself to create 61 faces in those 61 days. My goal was to see how my art would evolve during that time.
It was quite a journey! I learned a lot about what color palettes I preferred, what tools were working best for me, that eyelashes are not my thing and so much more.
So, here they are: the good, the bad and the ugly!
